Dissident lawsuit leaves sour taste at specialty food group

Former board chair and ex-member claims association expelled him and changed bylaws to thwart his plan to take SFA private By William Ehart A former chair of the New York-based Specialty Food Association is suing the group and certain board members as part of an effort to take SFA private. Phil Kafarakis, SFA president since 2016, called the suit baseless and said the effort by Dan Dowe, executive chairman of Artisanal Cheese, violates New York law and the association's bylaws.
